Joe
Pilot/Don Smith
Joe and Don’s '15 minutes of fame' has been extended
once more. The latest edition of Prime Times, Prime
Timers World Wide’s newsletter, has an article about
advances and acceptance of the gay community. That
article includes a photo for Joe and Don with the
caption "Joe Pilot and Don Smith have been together
for 33 years. The Chicago Primetimers took the occasion
of attending the Toronto convention in 2009 to make it
‘official’ by getting legally married at the Toronto
City Hall. Marriage is legal across the entire country
of Canada; in the United States, only five states have
full marriage rights." Hmm, if they had waited a
month they could have included New York in the list of
states with full marriage rights.
