The purpose of our organization is to provide mature
gay and bisexual men, and their admirers, with
opportunities to come together in a supportive
atmosphere to enjoy social, educational, and
recreational activities. |
Chicago Prime
Timers is a social club formed in 1977. We are
proud to be one of the oldest and most active clubs of
our type in the entire nation.
Affiliated with
Prime Timers
WorldWide, our members are gay men interested in
such events as: Neighborhood Dining, Sunday
Brunches, Potluck Dinners, Gourmet Dining, Wine and
Cheese Parties, Bicycling, Bowling, Stage Plays, Movies,
Bar Nights, Pinochle, Hearts, Computer Shoptalk, AIDS
Walk Chicago, Chicago Historical Tours, and Vacation
Tours.

|
Prime Timers are older gay or bisexual men (and
younger men who admire mature men). Our members are men who
choose to have their social lives enriched by the diverse
activities in which our members engage. No single definition can
describe Prime Timers, as they come from all walks of life.
Prime Timers involve themselves in their community with
volunteerism, politics, gay issues, arts, entertainment, and
every other facet of healthy living. Prime Timers are fathers
and care givers. They are businessmen and entrepreneurs. They
are workers and they are retired. Some are always on the go, and
some enjoy the quiet company of others at home.
But one thing is true of all Prime Timers
everywhere: they enjoy a special sense of community and
camaraderie they can find in no other organization.
|
Our social schedule
includes many annual parties, for instance
on St. Patrick's Day, Academy Awards Night,
CPT's Anniversary Dinner Dance in early May,
Memorial Day, Pride Day, Independence Day,
Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, The
December Holiday Celebration," etc. To get an idea of our
usual activities take a look at our monthly calendars.
|
In addition,
on the second Sunday of each month we have
an Open Social starting at 6 p.m.
Those wishing to enjoy alcoholic beverages
are asked to bring their own bottle. Set-ups
are $1.00. The social hour is followed by a
dinner and a program at 7 P.M. Free parking
is available in the Ann Sather's parking
lot. It can be entered through the
southbound alley at the west end of the
restaurant.
Open Social is $20.00 for
members, $25.00 for non-members. Non-members and
guests are always most welcome.

To see what we're doing now, please take a look at this months activities
page at the top of this page.
We warmly invite you to come to an Open
Social and meet us. We particularly wish to extend a
welcome to all you Prime Timers visiting the Chicago
area and will be happy to offer our hospitality if you
will contact us beforehand with information about your
stay. Our cordiality can range from advice about places
of entertainment to free lodging at a CPT member's
home. Also, you will be accorded the CPT member rate if
you attend our Open Social. On the other hand, even if
you haven't joined Prime Timers yet, we'd still like to
meet you for an enjoyable evening of cocktails and
dinner.
