Activities (Updated July 12th)

EPT Meetings: Edmonton Prime Timers meet on every second Sunday of the month, with the exception of December, July and August, at the Unitarian Church at 10804 - 119th Street.  Meetings commence at 2:30 pm with a social half hour, followed by our meeting and then any one of various activities (presentations, potlucks, etc.). In December we have a Christmas party, in July a BBQ, and then in August a picnic.  Again, they are on the second Sunday of the month. Upcoming programs are listed:

  • August 8th: Our annual potluck picnic is at Jerome K's cottage at Ferintosh.

Bring something  for yourself for the BBQ plus a dish to share. BYOB; pop will be provided. A map to Jerome's has been emailed to members and may also be found at the Members Page.

Theatre: The performances listed below are all ones for which some members have tickets or subscriptions.  If you don't have tickets and would like to attend, you should be able to get tickets from Tix-on-the-Square or the theatre staging the performance. We usually try to arrange dinner around performances. Contact edmontonpt@yahoo.ca with any queries.

From Fred H:
"At the June meeting I will still be pushing subscriptions to the Citadel's Main Stage 6 productions. I will try to select a Saturday or Sunday matinee so that out-of-towners can attend. The price is reasonable at $36 per play for seniors and $45 for adults.

In July things pick up with the opening of the Freewill Shakespeare Festival. I am recommending the Saturday, July 10th matinee for Much Ado About Nothing. Not only will you get the play, but also a lovely tea and a brief performance of a scene from the play by the Freewill Players, their summer youth training group plus a talk by the Artistic Director which was great last year. Larry and I went last year. It was lots of fun. I am recommending Saturday July 10th or 24th for Macbeth which are only evening performances. Tickets are $15 per play for seniors, $22.50 for adults, and a Festival Pass is $35 which last year admitted 2 for 2 performances. So which is best depends on your situation."

Movies at Home: Will resume in September.

Dining Out: To be updated by Eric S and/or Bob M.

Lunch: *New* Weather permitting, lunch will be on the patio at  Vi's for Pies on Thursday, July 15th, at 11:30 am. The location is at 13408 Stony Plain Road. No sign up is necessary.

*Updated* Lunch will continue through the summer and will be on Thursday, August 5th, at PiccoLino Bistro and September 2nd at an as yet undetermined location if you wish to mark your calendars.
